Outside Tripura, significant number of Tripuri speakers are recorded in Mizoram in Mamit - मामित (17.64 %), Lawngtlai - लोंगत्लाई (7.22 %), Kolasib - कोलासिब (4.63 %), and Lunglei - लुंगलेई (2.94 %), in Assam in Hailakandi - हाइलाकान्‍डी (2.11 %) and in Meghalaya in West Khasi Hills - वेस्ट खासी हिल्स (0.52 %).
