In accordance with Census 2011 there are 36,665 Mogh speakers in India covering 0,003 % of the country's total population.
Substantial share of Mogh speakers in:
- Tripura - त्रिपुरा (35,722 with 0.97 % of the state's population),
- Mizoram - मिजोरम (330) and
- Assam - असम (325).
Among the districts in Tripura, the highest proportion of Mogh speakers is noticed in:
- South Tripura - दक्षिण त्रिपुरा (30,433),
- Dhalai - धलाई (4,061),
- North Tripura - उत्तर त्रिपुरा (837) and
- West Tripura - पश्चिम त्रिपुरा (391).
Outside Tripura, Mogh speakers are recorded in Mizoram in Lawngtlai - लोंगत्लाई (166) and Aizawl - आईज़ोल (110), in Assam in Karimganj - करीमगंज (136).
