Chakhesang speakers are mainly concentrated in:
- Nagaland - नगालैंड (17,919 with 0.91 % of the state's population),
- Manipur - मणिपुर (1,146) and
- Assam - असम (709).
Chakru/Chokri speakers are mainly concentrated in:
- Nagaland - नगालैंड (91,010 with 4.60 % of the state's population).
Among the districts in Nagaland, the highest number of Chakhesang speakers is noticed in:
- Dimapur - दीमापुर (6,820),
- Phek - फ़ेक (5,701),
- Kohima - कोहिमा (3,272),
- Peren - पेरेन (1,594) and
- Mokokchung - मोकोकचुंग (167).
