In accordance with Census 2011 there are 727,133 Korku speakers in India covering 0,06 % of the country's total population.
Substantial share of Korku speakers are concentrated in:
- Madhya Pradesh - मध्य प्रदेश (470,386 with 0.65 % of the state's population) and
- Maharashtra - महाराष्ट्र (255,772 with 0.23 % of the state's population).
Among the districts in Madhya Pradesh, the highest proportion of Korku speakers is noticed in:

- East Nimar (Khandwa) - खण्डवा (पूर्व निमाड़ (127,198),
- Burhanpur - बुरहानपुर (78,935),

- Buldana - बुलडाना (4,855),
- Jalgaon - जलगांव (830),
- Wardha - वर्धा (811),
- Nagpur - नागपूर (447) and
- Thane - थाने (373).
Outside Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, Korku speakers are recorded in Goa in North Goa - उत्तर गोवा (362) , in Chhattisgarh in Koriya - कोरिया (136), in Himachal Pradesh in Shimla - शिमला (115), and in Bihar in Katihar - कटिहार (98).
