In accordance with Census 2011 there are 1,421,418 Ho speakers in India covering 0,12 % of the country's total population.
Ho speakers are mainly concentrated in the states in:
- Jharkhand - झारखंड (69.95 %, 3.01 % of the state's population) and
- Odisha - ओडिशा (28.97 %).
Among the districts in Jharkhand, the highest proportion of Ho speakers are available in:
- Pashchimi Singhbhum - पश्चिमी सिंहभूम (54.37 %),
- Saraikela Kharsawan - सरायकेला-खरसावां (9.65 %),
- Purbi Singhbhum - पूर्वी सिंहभूम (2.76 %) and
- Bokaro - बोकारो (0.22 %).
Apart from Jharkhand, Ho language is spoken significantly in Kendujhar - केन्दुझर (8.09 %),Mayurbhanj - मयूरभंज (7.58 %), Jajapur - जाजपुर (2.09 %), Anugul - अनुगुल (1.41 %), Debagarh - देबगढ़ (0.91 %) and Dhenkanal - ढ़ेंकानाल (0.26 %).
