The major share of English speakers is in the states of:
- Maharashtra - महाराष्ट्र (41.07 %),
- Tamil Nadu - तमिलनाडु (9.43 %),
- Karnataka - कर्नाटक (8.94 %),
- West Bengal - पश्चिम बंगाल (5.76 %),
- Rajasthan - राजस्थान (5.08 %),
- Uttar Pradesh - उतार प्रदेश। (5.04 %) and
- Andhra Pradesh - आंध्र प्रदेश (5.03 %).
Among the districts in Maharashtra, the highest proportion of English speakers is noticed in:
- Mumbai Suburban - मुंबई उपनगर (0.58 %),
- Mumbai - मुंबई (0.45 %),
- Thane - थाने (0.18 %) and
- Pune - पुने (0.12 %).
In Maharashtra, the highest percentages of English speakers are noticed in Goa in North Goa - उत्तर गोवा (0.86 %) and South Goa - दक्षिण गोवा (0.42 %), in Puducherry UT in Mahe - माही (0.35 %), and in Tamil Nadu in Chennai - चेन्नई (0.22 %) and The Nilgiris - द नीलगिरि (0.11 %), West Bengal in Kolkata - कोलकाता (0.20 %), and in Karnataka in Bangalore - बेंगलूरू (0.18 %).
